Sandra & Soo Yong Chua, 28 February 2009

Notes from Our Couple:

“Dear Hannah, thank you for the most wonderful and magical wedding. It was a wedding that we both enjoyed thoroughly. It’s our greatest pleasure to have worked with you. Your sense of professionalism and personal touch is beyond first class. Our friends and family all tell us that it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts."

Uniqueness of this Wedding:

Our Couple

Singaporean couple who amazes me with their candid personality & life philosophy, like flying off to Canada and be wedded, only having strangers as their witnesses.

Their Dream Wedding & Our Completion

Sandra & Soo Yong’s dream wedding was simply a BBQ dinner, maybe at the backyard of the house. However, as a Chinese couple, we do often have large families and eventually they had to chose a ballroom as the alternative venue for their large wedding. I didn’t want to give up on the BBQ idea especially it truly reflects who they are : chill-out, homely and lovers of nature. So we create a wedding that is so cheery, homely. We have had our BBQ corners, Ice cream stations, fruits galore and most of all, a wedding that simply theirs. Can’t imagine, take a look at the pictures.

Our Satisfaction

I have to say, the first quarter of 2009 has been my happiest period as a wedding planner. We have some of the most interesting creations, and we have some of the amazing couples. Sandra & Soo Yong is one of such. This couple was special, they were there to witness my painful journey when granny passed on. They surprised me with their presence, their attention to my granny during her stay in hospital (Soo Yong happened to be working in the same hospital at that time), their support and trust in me as a planner. It was also a familiar wedding as I have planned both their cousin as well as their boss’s weddings. So they have seen our works, and yet they have never seem to ask much from us. I knew some of the concepts created were unthought of to the hotel, imaging lighting candles as the wishing corner, BBQ stations around the cocktail area, orange coloured carpet as the dancefloor.. everything seems strange to the venue owner, but I bet they felt it was an event that brings a new dimension to the hotel. We turned Fullerton to a pretty intimate outlook, at the end when I saw the guests busy munching away and taking pictures, I knew we have fulfilled what Sandra & Soo Yong were looking for in their wedding.
